Notice of Temporary Closure of the Eight Great Mountains Man Memorial Hall

Dear viewers and friends: To enhance the quality of services during the Spring Festival, the Ba Da Shan Ren Memorial Hall will temporarily close starting at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, February 9 (including the Peng Youshan Art Museum). During the closure, all public events will be suspended. We sincerely appreciate your understanding and support for the work of the Ba Da Shan Ren Memorial Hall. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and ask for your kind comprehension! The memorial hall will resume its regular opening hours on Saturday, February 10, 2024. From the first to the eighth day of the Lunar New Year, the museum will remain open without closing, offering you a feast for the eyes with its captivating exhibitions and a wide array of educational programs waiting for your visit.


Visiting Guidelines for the Eight Great Mountains Man Memorial Hall during the Spring Festival

Welcoming new beginnings and blessings, the auspicious Year of the Rabbit ushers in spring. As the Lunar New Year of Gui Mao draws near, to meet the public’s demand for exhibition visits during the Spring Festival holiday, our museum will remain open to the public as usual throughout the holiday period. Details are as follows:


Announcement: The Eight Great Mountains Man Memorial Hall Is Now Fully Open to the Public

Under the strict implementation of epidemic prevention and control measures, the Eight Great Mountains Man Memorial Hall will fully reopen to the public on May 21, 2022. The following are the guidelines for visitors:


Opening Hours

The Eight Great Mountains Man Memorial Hall is open year-round. During statutory holidays, the opening hours may be extended or shortened; please pay close attention to announcements on this website! In the event of major events or special circumstances that cause changes to the opening hours, the website will issue a special announcement. Except for statutory holidays, the Eight Great Mountains Man Memorial Hall observes a full-day closure every Monday throughout the year.

2. Gate Reservation Process:

Follow the official WeChat account of the Eight Great Mountains Man Memorial Museum—“Discover the Eight Great Mountains”—to make a ticket reservation: Fill in your personal information, select your desired visit date, and then submit your reservation. Alternatively, you can use Alipay or WeChat to scan the QR code on the museum’s official website to make your reservation.

● When using, ensure that your mobile network connection is stable. Tourists should increase their phone screen brightness to a high level, locate the reserved electronic ticket, and align the two-dimensional electronic ticket’s QR code with the gate’s QR code scanner (refer to a distance of 3–5 cm; the specific effective distance should be verified through on-site testing). Then, scan the QR code on the electronic ticket to pass through the gate.

Get the WIFI (Account: BDSR) ------> Follow my official WeChat account, “Bada Shanren” -----> Enter the Panoramic Tour module in the “Bada Zhen Shang” section ----> Start your tour experience.
2. After triggering the prompt for an exhibit, if the audio fails to play automatically, it may be due to your phone’s system requirements—please manually tap the play button.
3. For audio and images within approximately 20 meters, if the audio doesn't start playing immediately after being triggered, it could be due to a slow network download speed, so you’ll need to wait a bit longer.
4. If you need to return to the WeChat chat interface during the tour, simply tap the “Floating Window” feature located in the upper-right corner of the WeChat header. Transportation routes

South Gate of the Eight Great Mountains Man Memorial Hall (Dingshan Bridge)

Bus

Yingbin North Avenue, Dingshan Intersection Station:
Bus routes 20, 158, 179, 179 (long-distance service), 218, and 848—after getting off the bus, walk eastward along Dingshan Road for 1 kilometer, then enter the museum via Dingshan Bridge.

Chen Yun’s Former Residence Station:
Bus No. 179; for the extended-route service of Bus No. 179, after getting off the bus, walk eastward along Dingshan Road for 1 kilometer, then enter the museum via Dingshan Bridge.

East of the Bada Shanren Meihu Scenic Area:
Take bus route 89. After getting off, head northwest along the secondary road of Nanchang Avenue until you reach the intersection with the Bada Shanren Meihu Scenic Area. From there, enter the museum via Qingyunpu Road through Dingshan Bridge.

Subway

Take Metro Line 3 to Bada Shanren Station, then walk 1 kilometer east along Dingshan Road and enter the museum via Dingshan Bridge.

Driving

Simply navigate to the south gate of the Eight Great Mountains Man Memorial Hall or to Dingshan Bridge to arrive.

Please note:

The Eight Great Mountains Man Memorial Hall does not have a dedicated parking lot. The nearest public parking lot is located on the basement level of the Hengmao Art Museum, across from Dingshan Bridge; however, parking spaces are limited. We recommend that visitors take public transportation to the Eight Great Mountains Man Memorial Hall.

The Eight Great Mountains Man Memorial Hall was established on the site of the former Qingyunpu and is China’s first memorial hall dedicated to an ancient painter.

The Eight Great Mountains Man Memorial Hall adopts a one-way visitor route from south to north: the South Gate (Dingshan Bridge) serves exclusively as the entrance, and visitors must enter the museum grounds through the South Gate; the North Gate serves exclusively as the exit, and visitors may leave the museum grounds only through the North Gate after completing their visit.

Please do not smoke when you are visiting the Eight Great Mountains Man Memorial Hall.

The ancient buildings of Qingyunpu are wooden structures, and every lit cigarette butt could pose a threat to this precious historical and cultural heritage.

Respect cultural heritage and protect historical relics and sites.

Please don’t leave your name on ancient buildings or old trees—carving or writing on them won’t make your name live forever.

Be a civilized spectator.

To avoid obstructing or disturbing other visitors, please refrain from using flashlights and tripods for photography in the exhibition halls, in accordance with international practice. At exhibitions co-organized by our museum and other museums, as well as in the specialty merchandise stores, photography of exhibits is prohibited due to copyright agreements. Please pay attention to the warning signs and follow the instructions of the exhibition hall staff.

In case of crowded conditions, please follow the instructions of the staff, visit in an orderly manner, and avoid crowding.

Please pay attention to the items you’re carrying during your visit and be on guard against pickpocketing.
