Self-inscribed: “Bad Dream. This painting was originally titled ‘The Struggle Between Good and Evil,’ created in 1933 in Wuchang. It was destroyed during the War of Resistance Against Japan. A replica was made in 1988 in Nanchang—fifty-five years later. Gan Yuechao, Zhen Peng Youshan, at the age of seventy-eight, added this note.”
