“May Day” Holiday Event Recruitment | The accompanying social education activities for the special exhibition “Jinshi·Zen Heart—Works by Wu Changshuo from the Collection of the National Art Museum of China” are here!

As a key figure of the Shanghai School of painting, Wu Changshuo’s works in poetry, calligraphy, painting, and seal carving embody the essence of traditional literati painting. Moreover, he gained worldwide acclaim for his grand and vigorous freehand flower paintings. His art remains steadfast... “Taking the ancients as teachers,” this approach inherits the vigorous and unadorned spirit of Chinese culture, paving the way for future generations to embark on a brand-new path of aesthetic creation. From April 29 to July 9, 2023, the Ba Da Shan Ren Memorial Hall, in collaboration with the National Art Museum of China, will present “Jin Shi·Chan Xin: A Dialogue with Wu Changshuo—A Special Exhibition of Wu Changshuo’s Works from the Collection of the National Art Museum of China.” This exhibition aims to illuminate the stages of artistic development across different eras from the perspective of traditional literati painting, showcasing both the spirit of “taking the ancients as teachers” and the fresh, innovative face of our times—a vision of “making the ancient new.”

During the exhibition, the Eight Great Masters of the Ming Dynasty Memorial Hall has prepared a variety of engaging and interesting social education activities to serve diverse segments of society, thereby broadening the educational reach of the exhibition and creating a sustainable, better life.
