Recently, the Department of Culture and Tourism of Jiangxi Province issued the “Notice on the Announcement of the Second Batch of High-Quality Education Courses for Youth in Provincial Museums,” and the “Eight Great Masters’ Aesthetic Education” series of courses from the Eight Great Masters Memorial Hall has been successfully selected!

The “Eight Great Masters of the Brush: Aesthetic Education” series of courses for schools primarily comprises the “Eight Great Masters of the Brush: Aesthetic Education” curriculum, lectures on the art of the Eight Great Masters, the “Walking Eight Great Masters Museum—” high-fidelity exhibition of masterpieces by the Eight Great Masters, and accompanying educational activities. These courses employ engaging methods—such as lectures, exhibitions, and hands-on experiences—that are tailored to the cognitive levels of adolescents, thereby popularizing the art of the Eight Great Masters and enhancing young students’ confidence in our outstanding traditional culture. The series highlights the distinctive features of museum-based aesthetic education by integrating theoretical knowledge with tangible objects, complementing classroom learning with experiential learning in natural settings. Through experiencing beauty firsthand, students are inspired to develop an interest in history and culture and a deep appreciation for nature, fostering their humanistic sensibilities. Creatively breaking away from the conventional short-term teaching model of public museum education, this series innovates museum-based aesthetic education while fully leveraging the educational potential of museums. Adhering closely to the requirements of the national curriculum, the content of each stage of instruction focuses on cultivating aesthetic awareness, creativity, and practical skills. Through these courses, students acquire solid abilities in art appreciation and artistic expression, while interdisciplinary integrated teaching helps nurture their comprehensive learning capabilities.
