Recently, we received wonderful news: the “All Mountains Resonate—A Dialogue Between Bada Shanren and the Yangzhou Eight Eccentrics” special exhibition, organized by the Bada Shanren Memorial Museum and the Yangzhou Museum, co-organized by the Wuxi Museum, and guided by the Nanchang Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism, has stood out from 29 exhibition projects recommended by the cultural, radio, television, and tourism bureaus of various prefecture-level cities to be named one of the Top Ten Outstanding Exhibition Projects for Museums in the province (for the 2023–2024 period)! This marks the third time our museum has been recognized as a Top Ten Outstanding Exhibition Project in the province—following our previous successes with “No Traces of Chiseling—A Dialogue with Qi Baishi: An Exhibition of Works from the Beijing Painting Academy Collection” (2020) and “Peng Youshan and His Era: A Research Exhibition Commemorating the 110th Anniversary of Peng Youshan’s Birth” (2021–2022).

Recently, we received wonderful news: the “All Mountains Resonate—A Dialogue Between Bada Shanren and the Yangzhou Eight Eccentrics” special exhibition, organized by the Bada Shanren Memorial Hall and the Yangzhou Museum, co-organized by the Wuxi Museum, and guided by the Nanchang Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism, has stood out from 29 exhibition projects recommended by the cultural, radio, television, and tourism bureaus of various prefectural-level cities across the province, earning a spot among the Top Ten Outstanding Exhibition Projects for Museums in the province (for the 2023–2024 period)! This marks the third time our museum has been recognized as one of the Top Ten Outstanding Exhibition Projects in the province—following our previous successes with “No Traces of Chisel or Axe: A Dialogue with Qi Baishi—Exhibition of Collection Works from the Beijing Academy of Painting” (2020) and “Peng Youshan and His Era—An Exhibition Commemorating the 110th Anniversary of Peng Youshan’s Birth” (2021–2022).

This exhibition will be held from April 29 to August 18, 2024, at the Bada Shanren Memorial Hall. Featuring works by 26 master artists from the Ming and Qing dynasties as its unique medium, the exhibition showcases a total of 92 cultural relics (60 sets), including eight precious first-grade cultural relics. Centered around Bada Shanren, the exhibition systematically traces the brilliant artistic achievements from the mid-Ming to the late Qing periods. Through an artistic dialogue that transcends time and space, visitors will gain insight into the distinctive spirit of innovation embodied by Bada Shanren and the “Eight Eccentrics of Yangzhou.” As the exhibition’s title suggests—“All Mountains Resonate”—just as plucking a string on a zither causes its melodious tones to echo through mountains and valleys, these artworks, brought together under one roof, aim to guide viewers beyond time and space, enabling them to enter a state of transcendence.

 

During the exhibition, the Eight Great Masters of the Ming Dynasty Memorial Hall fully leveraged its academic strengths and invited renowned domestic experts and scholars to successfully host: 1 a nationwide seminar, 4 Academic lecture and 1 Expert-led tours offer in-depth interpretations of the exhibition from multiple perspectives, providing a diverse understanding of the Yangzhou Eight Eccentrics and greatly enriching the exhibition’s content.
