Geshan Lecture Hall | The Spirit of Metal and Stone, the Majestic Style—Wu Changshuo’s Influence on Freehand Flower-and-Bird Painting in the 20th Century

To better leverage the museum’s social education function, the “Geshan Lecture Hall” is once again open for business. The Eight Great Mountains Memorial Museum has invited Professor Deng Feng, a doctoral candidate from the Central Academy of Fine Arts and a research curator at the National Art Museum of China, to deliver a special lecture titled “The Spirit of Metal and Stone, the Mighty Vigor—Wu Changshuo’s Influence on Freehand Bird-and-Flower Painting in the 20th Century,” drawing on the ongoing exhibition “Wu Changshuo: ‘Metal and Stone·Zen Heart’—A Special Exhibition of Wu Changshuo’s Works from the Collection of the National Art Museum of China.” This lecture will enrich the scholarly content of the current exhibition.

At 2:30 p.m. on April 29, 2023, the “Eight Great Mountains Man Dialogue Series: Wu Changshuo—‘Jinshi·Zen Heart—A Special Exhibition of Wu Changshuo’s Works from the Collection of the National Art Museum of China’” was held at the Eight Great Mountains Man Memorial Hall.

Geshan Lecture Hall | Intention Creates Breakthrough—Wu Changshuo’s Paintings from the Perspective of Compositional Analysis

On the occasion of the 2023 “May 18 International Museum Day,” in order to attract greater public interest and attention to the museum sector and to respond to the theme “Museums, Sustainability, and a Better Life,” the Eight Great Mountains Memorial Hall has invited Professor Zhou Wang, Associate Research Curator at the Prince Gong’s Mansion Museum of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and a Ph.D. from the Central Academy of Fine Arts, to deliver a lecture titled “Intentional Creation and Breaking Boundaries: Wu Changshuo’s Paintings from the Perspective of Compositional Layout Analysis.” This lecture will enrich the academic content of the ongoing exhibition, “Eight Great Mountains in Dialogue: Wu Changshuo—‘Jinshi and Zen Heart’: A Special Exhibition of Wu Changshuo’s Works from the Collection of the National Art Museum of China.”
