On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the founding of the National Art Museum of China, 15 precious items from the Eight Great Masters Memorial Hall traveled to Beijing to participate in the exhibition “Ink Charm and Cultural Heritage—The Eight Great Masters, Shitao, and 20th-Century Chinese Freehand Art.” The exhibition ran for three months and sparked an enormous response in Beijing, igniting a nationwide “Eight Great Masters craze” both online and offline. During the three-month run, the exhibition welcomed as many as 500,000 visitors in person.

The special exhibition “Jinshi·Zen Heart—Works by Wu Changshuo from the Collection of the National Art Museum of China,” jointly organized by the National Art Museum of China and the Eight Great Masters Memorial Hall, has been widely loved by visitors and received high praise from all sectors since its opening on April 29. Over the past two months, the number of on-site visitors has exceeded 140,000, with more than 60,000 visitors welcomed during the May Day holiday. In light of the enthusiastic response from audiences, the exhibition’s closing date has been extended from the originally scheduled July 9 to August 13.
